The longtime television personality, Michael Williams was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and then he moved to Montreal in the 1970s. He began his studies at the Communications Arts School at Loyola. He was one of the first VJs at MuchMusic and hosted a multitude of shows between 1984 and 1993 including, “Electric Circus,” “Pepsi Power Hour,” “Soul in the City,” “RapCity,” and “The New Music” to name a few.
During his time he interviewed the likes of Tina Turner, Lou Reed, Run DMC. Williams is also a well-known radio host, working at CHOM-FM and CKGM-AM in Montreal, and CHUM-FM in Toronto. His most recent show is “College of Musical Knowledge” at Wave 94.7 in Hamilton. He owns Black Rose Studios in Toronto and teaches at the Trebas Institute of Music. He has carried out a lot of live TV interviews with world-famous film artists, musicians, politicians and other newsmakers. Currently, he works as a fill-in host on Toronto’s Newstalk 1010.
