Why the CBMA?

The Canada Black Music Archives is a non-profit digital archive established as a division of Word Media Group Inc. The mission of the CBMA is to research, preserve, and celebrate various music genres created, influenced, and inspired by primarily Black Canadian musicians. We are an openly accessible digital platform addressing the underrepresentation of Black Canadian’s in the country’s music landscape. With your support, the CBMA can become the main repository for this information, and give these musicians the recognition they deserve.

Help us make history as the first Black Canadian Digital Archive!
