Meet Reeny Smith, a talented musician, songwriter, and producer from Halifax who has garnered much attention and praise from the music industry. Her impressive musical abilities have earned her a long list of awards and accolades, starting with the Portia White Award for Excellence in Vocal Performance in 2011 and a scholarship from the Nova Scotia Talent Trust. Reeny has also received three African Nova Scotia Music Awards for Up and Coming Artist, Rising Star, and Artist of the Year and has won Music Nova Scotia’s African Canadian Artist of the Year award twice.
Her exceptional singing talent, dynamic stage presence, and lively performances have won over countless fans, whether performing with a full band, as part of a trio, or solo on the keys. Reeny’s musical abilities were cultivated from a young age by her family and friends in North Preston, Nova Scotia. Her father and grandfather were once part of one of Canada’s top gospel bands, and her uncles in the Carson Downey Band are respected musicians.
