Namuyenyi Kiwanaka

Namugenyi Kiwanuka came to Canada in 1983 with her family during the Ugandan Civil War. From 1999 to 2003, she acted as a VJ for MuchMusic. She has hosted basketball and football programs on Rogers Sportsnet during her career, including the popular weekly show NBA XL. She is a reporter and substitute anchor on TV Ontario’s newsmagazine series, “The Agenda”. Kiwanuka has also devoted her time to volunteering overseas for organizations such as War Child Canada, Journalists for Human Rights, and the Canadian Red Cross.

Kiwanuka is an award-winning journalist and accomplished producer with a proven record of conducting thought-provoking interviews and producing compelling stories. She has reported for reputable media outlets such as CNN, BET, NBA TV, Sportsnet, ET Canada, and Much/MTV Canada.

In addition, she has appeared as a guest on the BBC Worldservice and CBC. Some of her notable interviews include Cameron Diaz, Beyonce, and Britney Spears. As the Ambassador for the Canadian Red Cross’ Malaria Bites campaign, Kiwanuka helped to raise $2 million to fight malaria in Africa.

She has also written for the Toronto Star, the Globe and Mail, xoJane.com, and Upscale Magazine, and she has written feature stories for the Hartford Courant and Jane Magazine.
