Dave Vassell, better known as Comfort, was born on July 4, 1968 in Hanover, Jamaica. He is a singer, song writer and producer and is recognized as a soulful Toronto based reggae and ska musician.

Comfort has a powerful sensual voice that appeals to audiences wherever he performances. He has been a steady performer in Toronto for nearly two decades, gracing the stage across the city and Canada.

His career began at the age of eight singing in his church choir with his sister and brothers. In 2007, he joined ska band, the Arsenals, as their lead singer. He worked with them for 10 years and performed across Canada and parts of the United States. While working with the Arsenals Comfort also started working on his solo career. He released two singles in 2016, “City under lock down” and “Temptations”. Both singles had a powerful message for his fans and received a great deal of air play both in Canada and Jamaica.

In 2017, Comfort decided to focus completely on his solo career and began working on his first album, Take Comfort. In early 2019, while working on his album he released the first single from the album a remake of the R and B classic “Me and Mrs. Jones” done in a reggae style. He started touring across Canada, Europe, and the Caribbean, to promote his new EP.

Comfort has shared the stage with the likes of the Manhattans, Peaches and Herbs, Mos Def, Jill Scott, Freddie McGregor, Richie Stevens, Third World, Elephant Man, Buju Banton, Wayne Wonder and Toots and
Maytalos to name a few.

Following his passion for uplifting others, he also volunteers at numerous events such as The Healing hope Fundraiser, Prospect Alumna Fundraiser, Black History Month and many more.
