88Glam is a Canadian hip-hop group formed by Shakqueel Burthwright “88Camino” and Derek Wise back in 2017. Before the two came together, 88Camino and Derek Wise released music separately and teased their collaborative project in the summer of 2017. The name 88Glam was first introduced on November 1st, 2017, followed by their first music video “12”, which also featured the Weeknd. Shortly after, the duo released another music video for the song “Bali” which featured Canadian rapper, NAV. On November 7th, 2017, they released their first self-titled debut mixtape 88Glam, and then signed to XO and Republic Records.

Following the success of their debut mixtape, the duo re-released 88Glam as 88Glam Reloaded through XO and Republic Records on April 20th, 2018. The re-release included four new additional songs, like the duo’s platinum- certified record “Bali” with NAV, now also featured 2 Chainz. On November 15th, 2018, the duo released 88GLAM2 through XO records and Republic Records which featured artists Gunna and NAV. This album brought the duo even more success as it debuted at #8 on iTunes All-Genre Chart, #6 on the iTunes’ Hip Hop Chart, and earned its spot in Spotify’s Canada’s New Music Friday playlist. In 2021, the duo went independent and separated from XO and Republic Records, and went on to release their final album, Close to Heaven Far From God, in 2022. This album marked the end of 88Glam as Derek and Camino went their separate ways after the album. Despite going their separate ways their music lives on and their contribution to the Toronto hip-hop and rap scenes does not go unnoticed.
