The Arsenals

The Arsenals are a six-member group based in Toronto, inspired by the music of their root land, Jamaica. They specialize in reggae classics, jazz, contemporary rock, R&B and pop music covers as well as their own songs. The group has performed with famous reggae artists such as Ziggy Marley, Ernie Smith, Skatalites, The Slackers, Bounty Killer, Toots and the Maytals, and Derrick Morgan. This Toronto-based band performs at festivals and events across Canada, the US, and the Caribbean. The group consists of members Dizzy Minott (trombone), Dave Jackson (keyboard and vocals), Dean Jarvis (bass), Darren Edwards (drums and vocals), Mike St. Clair (guitar), and Jeff Holdip (sound engineer and producer). They released their debut album Stomp in 1995 and since then have performed many sold-out concerts across Canada and New York. They sadly lost one of their founding members, Walter Crash Morgan, along this journey. Ten years after its inception, the group sprang back with the original group members. Inspired by the music of rock and ska, Arsenals launched album Let Me In, which was dedicated to Morgan and lead by their drummer, Darren Edwards. The group continues to perform, now often led by trombonist, Dizzy Minott.
