Baka Not Nice

Travis Savoury, (born March 6th, 1979) also known as Baka Not Nice is a Canadian rapper who signed to OVO Sound, the record label co-founded by rapper Drake and producers Noah “40” and Oliver El-Khatib back in 2017. Before entering the Hip Hop/Rap scene, Baka’s career started off as part of Drake’s security team while also appearing on some of Drake’s releases as background vocals. Baka made his musical debut on the song “From Time” off Drake’s Nothing Was The Same album back in 2013, as he can be heard in the outro of the song. He also made appearances on More Life for the song “Free Smoke”, “Views”, and provided some background vocals for the song “Gyalchester”. On June 27th, 2017, Baka signed to the OVO Sound record label and released his first single “Live Up to My Name” which made references to the rapper’s life experiences. The song was well received by the public as it peaked at number 77 on the Canadian Hot 100 and was followed up by two more singles “No Beam” and “Junior High” in 2018. The following year he released a short EP No Long Talk consisting of 3 songs and features from artists like Juicy J and Giggs. After the release of “No Long Talk” Baka took a short break from recording and releasing music but returned in 2022 with the singles “Body & A Face”, “Took a Trip”, “Thinking About Drilling” and “Lover Boy”, in 2023. His choppy flow and catchy lyrics have caught the attention of many and will continue to do so as he releases more projects in the future.
