Gary Beals lives in Nova Scotia and is well known as the runner-up of Canadian Idol. Born in 1982, by 2003 he was named the “Best Hali-famous Person” of the year. The same year, the Regional Municipality celebrated “Gary Beals Day’. After winning runner-up of Canadian Idol, Beals released his first album, Gary Beals in 2004, which scored Number 10 on the Canadian album charts and sold 110,000 copies.
In 2009, he released his second album,The Rebirth of…, and in 2020 he released his third album, Bleed My Truth. His first single, “Me for Me,” talks about being open without fears and openly talking with the ones we love. He has been nominated for several awards including the JUNO Awards and African Nova Scotia Music Awards. He continues to work on new music, drawing inspiration from greats like Aretha Franklin and Al Green.
