Born in Hamilton, Ontario, in 1942, Harrison Kennedy is a blues, R&B, and soul, singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. With family roots reaching back to New Orleans and Tennessee, and kinfolk who walked to freedom through the underground railroad. His passion for music can be traced back to singing in his church choir as a young boy. He would later join the Chairman of the Board; a soul musical group based in the city of Detroit, Michigan. During his time with the band he recorded on Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On, and left the group shortly after a string of hits including “Give Me Just a Little More Time”. Following the bands success, he took a 30-year hiatus from the music industry, returning in 2003. Since then, he has had a varied solo career and has released 5 internationally acclaimed albums.
