Jeremiah Sparks

Jeremiah Sparks is a multi-talented artist from Canada who works as an actor, singer, and composer. You may recognize his captivating, rich voice from his role as “Mufasa” in the Toronto production of the popular musical The Lion King. Additionally, he is part of The Journey, a musical show representing the living history of the Regent Park Park Revitalization. He is scheduled for his third performance at Daniels Spectrum this November.
At the age of sixteen, Jeremiah started his musical journey as an organist at a church in Cherrybrook, Preston, Nova Scotia. He served as the Church Organist and Choir Director for over two decades before being offered a role in The Lion King musical in Toronto. Apart from being a gifted composer, he is also an exceptional actor and singer with an enchanting stage presence. Jeremiah has worked in numerous theatre productions and commercials and even voiced characters in famous cartoons such as the PBS series Daniel Tigers Neighbourhood, where he played the role of Stan the Music Man for three seasons. He has diverse theatre credits, including Hosanna, Satchmo Suite, The Odyssey (Stratford, both as an actor and composer), Mother Courage, A Christmas Carol, and Oliver (National Arts Center). He has also contributed to productions such as Oil and Water (Artistic Fraud Theater) and Sanctuary Song (Theatre Direct/Luminato).
Jeremiah is a talented music director who was thrilled to lead the Jubilee show at Halifax Metro Centre, showcasing talent from all over Nova Scotia. He also worked with Halifax District Schools to teach music to over 1,000 students for the grand finale. Additionally, Jeremiah has performed in the world-renowned production of Drum as a significant performer, and he travelled to Uganda to play the lead role in Cake, a play produced at the Biyimba International Arts Festival. Currently based in Toronto, Jeremiah has released his second album, Storms of Fear.
