JRDN

Ralph Jordon Croucher (JRDN), born in Halifax, moved to Ontario as an infant. He was influenced by King Lou of Dream Warriors, who lived in the same building while he was young. JRDN completed his tertiary education at St. Francis Xavier University. He was a basketball player during this time, and after his studies, he played professionally in France for one year.

His music career started with Canadian Idol, which exposed him to the industry, allowed him to work with similar industry talents, and let him experience television life. JRDN worked with Trobiz from Halifax and produced mixtapes with N.E.P and Triple Threat. He started working on his debut album “No Dress Code” in 2007 with “Classified”.

Ralph Jordon Croucher shortened his name to JRDN after his debut album. He has worked with Producers like Kuya and the production team of Sammy Blues and Bobby Brass.

JRDN, whose name was shortened from his full name, worked with Toronto’s Kuya Productions and the songwriting and production team of Sammy Blues and Bobby Brass. This team has previously worked with successful artists like Nelly, Mase, Ginuwine, Jesse McCartney, Nicole Scherzinger, and Akon. In 2009, JRDN signed with Kuya Productions and released his official debut album, IAMJRDN, on November 9, 2010. The album debuted at number 13 on the Canadian R&B Albums Chart, and the first single from the album, “U Can Have It All,” brought him to mainstream success by reaching number 20 on the Canadian Hot 100. The music video for the single also reached number 5 on the MuchMusic Countdown. The second single, “Like Magic,” also off his debut album, got number 24 on the Canadian Hot 100, and the music video topped the MuchMusic Countdown. “Like Magic” was certified Gold by Music Canada on September 10, 2012.
