Melanie Durrant

Daughter of Karen Durrant, the #1 Tina Turner impersonator, Melanie Durrant was born in Toronto and has collaborated with fellow Canadians such as Kardinal Offishall and Choclair. Melanie has shared the stage with Jay-Z, Jill Scott, Sean Paul, and 50 Cent. Melanie was featured alongside Jill Scott in the Canadian production of RENT in the late ‘90s, which lead to her touring as a backup singer for Scott. Melanie has been nominated for a Much Music Video Award for her single “Where I’m Going,” and won the Stylus Award for Single of the Year for her collaboration with Kardinal Offishall on her song “Bang Bang.” She was nominated for a 2014 Juno Award in the category of R&B Recording of the Year for her single “Gone.” Melanie’s music has been played in high rotation on local radio stations throughout the nation. Her style is versatile, expanding into the Reggae genre, recognized by her nomination for Reggae Single of the Year at the 2013 Much Music Video Awards.
