The five-piece femme collective, Naduh, is the love child of Rosita Alcantara, Giorgi Holiday, Larisa Sanders, Jenny Lea, and Tee Krispil. The group was created in 2020 with its members writing, engineering, and producing all of their own music. Their R&B chakra healing beats are reminiscent of the Spice Girls, TLC, and Destiny’s Child, while putting their own spin and autonomy to their craft. Their music holds a message of reclamation, empowerment, and queerness. Naduh premiered with debut album Homiesexual, in 2022, further promoting their unity and camaraderie. Prior to forming the group, they all had seperate careers, but found a harmony when brought together. The group wrote their first song, “Mawnin’” together one morning, over hot tea and conversations of astral projection. They have been operating successfully ever since, producing ethereal, sultry music.
Naduh has been nominated for ‘R&B Artist of the Year’ at the 2022 Western Canadian Music Awards, has supported sold out shows for Raveena and Jacob Banks, performed at the Campbell Music Festival, and has had their music featured on Prime’s show, “The Lake”. More recently, they were honoured with a special distinction from the SOCAN Her Awards in 2024. The Vancouver based group has now even toured internationally to the UK, in 2023.
The female empowering group prides itself on its collectivity and its sovereignty. They weren’t assembled like the many girl groups of the 90’s by the industries high-rollers but brought together of their own accord, and chose to stay together. Their bond and individual talents when combined, have created a soulful force to be reckoned with.
