Pressa

Meet Quinton Armani Gardner, the magnetic force behind the stage name Pressa, born on May 10th, 1996, hailing straight from the vibrant streets of Toronto. From Jane and Shoreham Courts, the five-time JUNO nominee embodies the spirit of his surroundings, weaving tales of resilience and ambition through music. His odyssey began as a tribute to his dear friend and fellow artist, Houdini. In the wake of loss, Pressa found solace in the art of expression, birthing his inaugural and well-known track, “Wass Gang” (2015), a poignant homage that resonated across the city. From that pivotal moment, Pressa’s ascent was unstoppable.

Starting with Youtube, Pressa captivated audiences with his raw lyricism and elements of drill, drawing attention from luminaries like Meek Mill. A fateful collaboration with Murda Beatz birthed the infectious anthem “Novacane” (2016), further cementing Pressa’s status as a rising star in Canadian street rap. Since then, his repertoire has only expanded, with tracks like “Lavish”, “Deadmihana”, and the acclaimed album Gardner Express (Deluxe) (2021).

Pressa’s music is a testament to his unwavering commitment to the artform. His ascent from the Courts keeps him grounded, and in every verse he champions the resilience of his community. His collaborations with fellow Toronto lumineers and international artists have further solidified his place in the hip-hop pantheon with tracks like “Canada Goose” (2017) and “Attachments” (2020). Lately, Pressa has been redefining his sound to reflect his personal growth with hits “Minimum Wage” (2023) and “W Hotel” (2024).

Beyond the stage Pressa is a beacon of hope, giving back to the community through initiatives like supporting his former school’s basketball program, ensuring that the next generation has the tools to chase their dreams. In an interview with No Jumper, Pressa shares his vision of becoming the “biggest to come up out of the mud”, a testament to his unwavering determination. With his distinctive voice and unapologetic style, Pressa isn’t just a rapper– he’s a story teller, a visionary, and a force to be reckoned with.
