Born Felix Appiah Korang, the Ghanaian singjay is better known by his artist name “Slim Flex”. One of Toronto’s most promising uprising urban artists, Slim Flex is an award- winning singer and songwriter who represents Canada’s African community. Versatile, Slim Flex’s music cannot fit any specific genre; his music is an African fusion, perfectly blending the sounds of popular African music with pop, hip-hop, dancehall and R&B.
His love for music stems from his church roots, like many he found himself involved in singing, dancing and learning various instruments on many occasions. When he migrated to Canada, the church helped him integrate within the Canadian-African communities in Toronto, he quickly became involved within the Choir. With the encouragement of friends and family, Slim Flex began to take his music more seriously.
He has since released several successful singles and two albums [Odehyea (Royalty) (2007), Confessions Of A Boss (2013)] and toured various cities across Canada, the U.S and Africa. He has been featured in top media houses such as Sway Magazine, Ghanamusic.com, Toronto Rappers.com and Muchmusic.com. A several time nominee at Canada’s African Entertainment Award’s, Slim flex was honored with an award in 2013 for Artist of the year.
After a short break to focus on his careers direct, Slim Flex landed a management deal with independent music label “Diet Monkey”. Ready to take his career to the next level, his recent cross-genre single “Whine For Me” has been making waves across Canada, Jamaica and Africa. The video for “Whine For Me” was released in April 2017. With musical influences such as Bob Marley, Prince, Marvin Gaye and Kojo Antwi; Slim Flex’s love & passion for music as an artist is evident with every track he puts out. His work ethic and passion is his ingredient to success.”
