Warren Webley remains one of Toronto’s music industry’s key background players. As owner and operator of one of the longest running and most well-known sound crews in the city, a club operator and responsible for hosting hundreds of music events from the 80’s until now, he has played a crucial role in Toronto’s music culture.
Webley has operated Sunshine Sound and Lighting for over 35 years, operating briefly as two locations, one on Eglinton and the other in Scarborough (which has since closed). His sound systems and equipment were featured at parties, clubs and events throughout the city. He was also the owner of youth hub Club Focus and Club Z which would feature his sound system crew, including his own two sons Devon and Michael Webley. These venues nurtured up-coming DJ’s, promoters, and future venue owners. He remains an institution in the city of Toronto and continues offering sound systems and equipment for clubs, festivals, and church events in the community for local artists and musicians as big as Drake.
