Black Music Month Showcase
The Canada Black Music Archives
The free event, which took place recently, featured performances by celebrated Canadian artists such as Reggae Queen Nana McLean, who was accompanied by Eddie Bullen, Papa Levy, Maurice Gordon, and King Cosmos. McLean captivated the audience with her Jamaican heritage and smooth vocal prowess, while King Cosmos and Maurice Gordon delivered an exceptional Caribbean folk music experience that left a lasting impression.
Additionally, the event showcased a rich collection of photographs, album covers, and other memorabilia from the vibrant Little Jamaica community located on Eglinton Avenue West.
This gathering not only celebrated musical talent but also highlighted the cultural significance of the neighborhood, providing attendees with a deeper appreciation for its contributions to Canadian culture.
