Black History Month Showcase Vancouver 2026

CBMA Expands West to Vancouver for Black History Month Showcase. Join us on this Canada Black Music Archives’ (CBMA) journey to Western Canada in Vancouver, British Columbia to amplify the music of Black Canadian artists during Black History Month. Come and celebrate the culture and five incredible musicians in performance at the Museum of Vancouver on February 27th.

Black History Month at Queen's Park

The Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario will host a Black History Month exhibit at Queen’s Park in Toronto from February 11 to 13, 2026. The in-suite display will feature collections from the Canada Black Music Archives, Black Diasporas Tkaronto-Toronto, and the Archives of Ontario, highlighting the cultural contributions of Black communities across the province.

Join us on February 5th, 2026, at the City of Toronto Archives for a celebration of Toronto-based Black Canadian soul/r&b artists through performances and conversations. The Canada Black Music Archives (CBMA), supported in part by TD Bank Group through the TD Ready Commitment, as well as the Government of Canada, and the City of Toronto, presents the CBMA Toronto Black Music Showcase. The free event, which took place recently, featured performances by celebrated Canadian artists such as Reggae Queen Nana McLean, who was accompanied by Eddie Bullen, Maurice Gordon, and King Cosmos.

Black History Month Event

The CBMA celebrated a night of music, history, and culture with their Black History Month Event on Friday, February 23rd. Their sophomore event, succeeded by their hit pop-up launch in November, was hosted once more at the City of Toronto Archives. The evening followed a presentation for the Black Network Society and performance by Jay Douglas, held earlier that morning.
