The Canada Black Music Archives joins West Indian Rhythms, Montreal's first and longest running Caribbean culture radio program! CBMA co-founders Phil Vassell and Donna McCurvin, and Dr. Mark Campbell from the University of Toronto and Afrosonic Innovation Lab, joined legendary radio hosts Howard "Stretch" Carr and Butcher T. Other featured guests in this special episode are Clement Davis of Jamdown Productions, and local reggae stars Vernon Maytone of the Maytones, Jah Cutta, Juliet "Smurfette" Nelson, and Sampaloo. The Canada Black Music Archives hit the road and joined Montreal's CKUT 90.3FM as part of The Takeover: CBMA X CKUT | BLK Music / BLK Montreal.

Also a part of the conversation are CKUT's Wayne Moore and DJ Storme. Professor Dorothy V. Williams provided provided context on the 350 year history of the Black diaspora in Montreal. She is the author of two books on the population's history in the city; the most recent is The Road to Now: A History of Blacks in Montreal. The Takeover was done in collaboration with Professor Mark Campbell of the University of Toronto's Afrosonic Innovation Lab, Montreal's CKUT FM and the Canada Black Music Archives (CBMA).
